Lalin personality type is ESFJ, so it is likely her actions and feelings were more genuine than her words. I think she also knows her previous relationships have been abusive, so she doesn't need to let people get away with that shit in order for her to love them.
But yeah, I don't see how she can still be that manipulative in the end.
I've only been with one guy who tried to be abusive, and he left after a few months. It was like a subtle upset that he would even try. I think I am able to be with someone like her because I have a healthy sense of self respect and can be quite detached from people who are toxic. I would not be able to handle someone like her if she had been with me in the past. I don't know why she feels the need to be so manipulative, but it seems to me she is just that way.
I also think it is possible she will be able to leave at some point when she finally decides to walk away. I'm afraid of leaving too soon though, so we'll see. I'm not sure how much longer this will last, but I think we are both keeping our feelings contained in a healthy way.
