Tobias Hankel was a recurring character first appearing in the fourteenth episode of Season Two, "The Big Game." He suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, which he developed after being severely abused by his father Charles during his childhood. Tobias represents the first personality of the system. He had been addicted to the drug Dilaudid and would hook Spencer Reid on it by forcefully injecting him with it. He was shot and killed by Reid one episode after Tobias' first appearance.
