She's always been that way, but in her case, it's very self-aware and her tough-girl facade is just that: a facade. She's mostly embarrassed by it, and so she tries to act tough to hide it. With the recent events, she's trying to work out how to deal with this feeling of loss. Unfortunately, she can't seem to manage it.
Torturamastafucker - Even though he's been off his high horse for a while now, he still seems to be holding onto some of his alpha-male ways. He's always been very set in his ways, and has this annoying habit of looking down on others - even those he respects - until they prove themselves to him. He does however, hold a lot of respect for the girl in question. He understands the pain she's going through, the loss she feels, and is willing to give her a little bit of space - as long as she doesn't try to push him away. He's still trying to work out what he should do about his feelings for her.
