Mew personality type is ISTP, so I'm more of an introverted thinking type. I'm not super self-aware, so it's really easy for me to be taken advantage of or made to feel like I'm being forced into things.
When I first started dating my boyfriend, he was a huge ISTP, and I realized that he was more of a "yes man" type. It wasn't until after we had been dating for about a year that he opened up to me about some of his insecurities. He felt like he had to do everything for me, and that was the main reason why he held back from telling me how he felt.
I think what really helped him get over this insecurity was writing letters to me--he would write me letters telling me how he felt, and then he'd put them in a journal.
