Yeon personality type is INFP, and that was the personality type of my mother, who was a bit of a dreamer and an artist with a great imagination. She also had an amazing ability to seek out other artists to meet and become friends with, and this is where I learned about Buddhism from her.

I began to study and read about Buddhism in general and the teachings of Buddha in particular. When I was about 13 years old, I came across a book about the Buddhist practice of Vipassana meditation. This practice is a meditation practice that was developed by the Buddha, and it is an eight step practice that uses a technique called “mindfulness” to train one’s mind to become more aware. This practice was very powerful for me, as it helped me to understand and accept more of my own emotions and experiences. I began to practice Vipassana in earnest once I was 19 years old.

It took me over 10 years to really develop my own understanding of the Buddha’s teachings and ways of practice. When I was 21 years old, I had my first child. Shortly after that first child was born, I began to study and practice with a meditation teacher.
