I don’t like to be controlled, so I don’t like to be told what to do.”
Xiao Qi has come to The Daily Show from Comedy Central, where he was a writing intern for Jon Stewart. The timing worked out perfectly because Xiao Qi grew up in the U.S., and he says he was heavily influenced by The Daily Show when he was in high school. When I ask what he would do if he had a chance to work on the show, Xiao Qi says he has a few ideas. “I know there are a lot of smart people who read The Daily Show, so I’d like to bring more of my perspective to the show.”
