In other words, he says that he is Lúthien's child, not a child of Erendis. This means that it is not Aragorn's choice to say that he is Lúthien's child but Lúthien's choice to say that he is her child (in Tolkien's conception). In other words, it is possible for a person to be a child of both parents.
Since Aragorn identifies himself as Lúthien's son in the Tower of Cirith Ungol, it is possible that Aragorn's identity was in the process of being "transfigured" into the "selfhood" of a son of Erendis. This means that, after Aragorn went into the Tower of Cirith Ungol and his rebirth, his identity was being transformed into the "selfhood" of a child of Erendis because his identity was being tied to Erendis' soul.
