I am very excited to share this story with you. It is well known that at the age of 5, while walking home from school one day, Tamaru was struck by a random thought. He had lost his favourite slipper, and as he walked home he thought “what if I could make a shoe that could fit my foot?”
Over the next 5 years Tamaru put his idea into practice, and created a prototype that could fit his foot. Tamaru continued to improve the prototype and constantly tested it, until he felt he had finally created the perfect shoe. However, at this point the project was far from over.
Tamaru started his own shoe company, which eventually grew into a huge international brand. The Tamaru shoe was so successful that production units were shipped from Japan all over the world.
Tamaru became a successful businessman and had a very successful career in Japan — however, he wasn’t happy. He felt that he wanted to do something that would make him happy for the rest of his life.
