Marijuana personality type is ENTP, or extrovert, intuitive, thinking and perceiving.
It's the type of personality that creates great ideas, thrives on change and is easy to get along with.
But it's also the type that can be a little too creative and a little too idealistic and is often misunderstood by others.
"I think marijuana is the most misunderstood drug at this point," said David Bialek, a psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School in Boston who has studied marijuana. "People have this impression that the current situation with respect to medical marijuana is a settled question. But it's not settled. There are still substantial questions about safety and efficacy."
Marijuana has been legalized in some form in 23 states and the District of Columbia. Most of those states have decriminalized possession of small amounts for personal use and about half allow for some form of medical marijuana use.
Marijuana personalities are often called "stoners" or "potheads." But this stereotype doesn't paint an accurate picture, Bialek said. The marijuana personality type is highly intelligent, creative and aware of the consequences of using marijuana.
"What they don't do is just sit around smoking marijuana," he said.
