"I've definitely told my therapist that I have an introverted side," she says. "I'm very mindful of it and I'm aware of those things."
"I've always been very conscious of that and I love the idea of being a compliment to people who are extroverted and being more introverted myself," she adds. "I think everyone should do that because it's really hard to be a compliment to everyone. There are some people that don't want to hear that."
She also makes sure she's getting enough rest and exercise, eats well and treats herself to vacation time for a mental break.
"I think the hardest part is being conscious of these things," she says. "I think it is important [to practice self-care]. I definitely work on it. I'm not perfect by any means, but I like to work on it."
Nichel is also a mother of two daughters and has a 20 month old son. She married her husband in December of 2016 after two years of dating.
