Yevgeny Teplyakov (born January 21, 1981) is a Russian physicist and cosmonaut, who was selected to have traveled to space in the Soyuz TMA-08M spacecraft. He is the fourth Russian cosmonaut to make a spaceflight, the first Russian to wear the new Sokol (Russian: Сокол) spacesuit, and the second Russian to train for international space missions.
In addition to his role as a cosmonaut, he also works as a scientist at the Institute of Applied Physics and Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), and a chief research scientist at the Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics (RICT) of RAS. Teplyakov is a member of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics. In 2009, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the President of the Russian Federation.
