Saaya Kawai (川合 紗綾, Kawai Saaya) is Goro Majima's hostess in Yakuza: Dead Souls who is one of the few hostesses in the series capable of fighting and she also becomes available as an AI companion character after completing her substory. Saaya is a self-professed princess, and loves to be spoiled more than anything. She prefers to stay indoors and laze around, eating pickled plums and playing with her cat Mon, who she constantly talks about, much to Majima's bafflement. In Saaya's substory, her ex-boyfriend, Shinji, steals Mon from her apartment and brings him into the quarantine zone in an attempt to force Saaya into taking him back. Majima finds him in his office in Millennium Tower and rescues Mon from him, refusing to escort him out of the quarantine zone and leaving Shinji to fend for himself.
