Susumu Gondawara is one of many minor characters in Yakuza 2 and its remake, Kiwami 2. He also makes an appearance in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Gondawara is encountered during the substory Baby Don't Cry during Chapter 3. After Ichiban Kasuga helps a hapless businessman who's being threatened by a yakuza (later revealed to be one of Gondawara's men) for a can of baby formula. They mistake the loud cries of Gondawara for those of a real baby being born inside a nearby building and rush to aid the "child", only to be confronted by Gondawara and his men. After Ichiban fights off Gondawara, the mistake is cleared up and the businessman is given advice on his new family life by Gondawara and his "nurse". Gondawara then suggests to Kasuga that they drink baby formula to toast the new father; whether Kasuga agrees to this is dependent on player choice. Upon completing the substory, Gondawara is unlocked as part of the Poundmates system, though he is only available during the night.
