I think it's awesome that you're getting together with your dude friend. I have a sort of "on again/off again" relationship going with my BFF and another guy (both ENFJ). I really enjoy spending time with her, but she doesn't like spending much time with me at all. I think that's because she's always feeling unappreciated or something, even though we spend plenty of time together. She gets bored pretty easily and doesn't like talking on the phone a lot. But the very few times she spends time with me she is always so happy and fun.
I hope your BFF can come around to being more social with you. You'll get best results if she feels appreciated in some way. I've had a similar problem with my BFF, but instead of just not being able to understand me, she just doesn't relate to me in the same way... and that's why we don't hang out as much.
