J personality type is ENFJ, so I knew that the way my parents raised me was likely to be a big influence on how I behaved, especially in the workplace.
I had been at the same company for a few months when I started looking for a new job. I was excited about the prospect of moving to a new city, but I was starting to get stir crazy. I called my family and told them that I wanted to move to another city and they were more than happy to help me find a new job. The only problem was that they didn’t know of any jobs in my new city.
My mom suggested that I check out the career forums on LinkedIn, which she found through my dad, who knows all about LinkedIn. Not only did she find me a job, but she did so in just a few minutes. My mom is an ENFJ, and she’s super-organized and can quickly process complex information. She was able to look up the career boards for my new city, find all of the relevant job postings and prioritize them according to skill and salary level. She then emailed them to me, which I forwarded to my new boss at work.
