Jake Finch is the son of Abraham Finch, the owner of Finch farm, living in the Commonwealth in 2287. After a disagreement, he left to join the Forged, a group of fire-worshiping fanatics established in the nearby Saugus Ironworks, taking his father's Shishkebab, a family heirloom, as an offering to the gang. His hope was that it would help gain favor with their leader Slag and that they would raid settlements outside the Commonwealth and away from his family's farm.
