Con personality type is ENFP, which means I am drawn to machines and how they work. I am also an INFP, which means I prefer to use my creativity to try to understand things, rather than just doing them. I am not a scientist, but a creative person. I believe that science is a powerful tool that can be used for the greater good.
In modern society, we are conditioned to believe that only people with certain educational backgrounds can be scientists or engineers. As a child, I took science at school, but I was never allowed to take math or engineering classes. I was always told that I was “too nice of a person” to be a scientist or engineer, even though I excelled at math in high school.
I have always been interested in the physical sciences, especially chemistry. At a very young age, I decided that chemistry was my chosen field of study. By the time I was 11 years old, I had already made my first complete set of chemical formulas and had successfully synthesized a few chemicals in the lab.
In high school, the school chemistry teacher assigned me to be the lab assistant for my class.
