Juri is a very mature girl. She is more mature than her age and she has a lot of knowledge and experience. She was born in a family where she had to be strong and to fight for what she wants. Her father is an abusive drunkard and her mother is a weak woman who doesn't care about her. Her mother was actually a prostitute before Juri was born, but she was afraid of her father's violence so she left him and went to the United States. It was fortunate that she chose to leave Japan because the country is starting to give them trouble after WWII. She did not want to be part of the war, but it was too late, as the Japanese have already been defeated by the Americans. They are now trying to rebuild their country, but Juri's attitude is still the same as it is before. She wants to be strong, to fight for what she wants, and she does not want to be worried about anything from others.
