Jackson is the founder and director of Springfield's "Storytellers," the Miss Springfield competition that is held every spring. The competition is open to elementary, middle and high school students.
The two-day event features five rounds of storytelling where contestants must tell true life stories. Contestants are scored on their delivery, how unique their stories were, the way they captivated the audience and the creativity with which they told their stories.
"I really like hearing other people's stories," Jackson says. "I especially love when people tell stories about themselves. It's more personal."
Jackson is also the founder and director of Springfield's Spelling Bee. She is aiming to bring the spelling bee back to Springfield Central, but she needs help from community members.
"If you know someone who could help out, please let me know," she says.
Jackson loves helping others.
