Haru Matsuda (春 松田) is the protagonist of Akako-chan is Not My Friend. A second-year high school student & member of the tea ceremony club. Despite being almost painfully average, he is level-headed, responsible, and kind, and therefore is well-liked by teachers & peers. He tends to be naive and a bit awkward, but is well-meaning nonetheless.
After his encounters with Akako, however, his personality seems to shift drastically, becoming much more moody and defensive. His temper is much shorter, and his sudden tendency to lash out at others causes him to isolate himself from the world for days at a time, afraid of hurting his friends. In moments of desperation, he has been shown to react violently and/or impulsively as a result of Akako's tormenting.
