The reason why ISFJs are often stereotyped as healers is because they are so good at serving the needs of others. This is difficult to see in the unconscious mind of an ISFJ, because they are so super-conscious and self-centered, and so they can easily miss the needs of others.
ISFJs are almost always huddled up with a bunch of little creatures (or at least with other people). They are often at the center of a little group of people, because they are very persuasive and good at things like counseling, medical procedures, and helping others resolve their emotional struggles.
They are also great at helping in groups, and they usually have a lot of friends they can turn to in times of need. But being such good listeners means that they don’t notice the needs of themselves too much.
Of course this is not always the case, but since so many ISFJs are in professions where their main focus is on helping others, there is a lot of unmet need in their own lives.
