In season 11, Rufus found himself in the middle of a romantic relationship with Penny. At first, she seemed too innocent to be interested in him, but during the season's finale, she admitted that she was indeed interested in him. This caused him to become nervous and he struggled with his feelings for her, which resulted in him accidentally kissing her. He later made a heartfelt confession at Penny's birthday party, which she rejected; however, the two did later end up dating and broke up in the season's final episode.
