Jonathan Harker is a fictional character in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. He was the protagonist of the novel and one of the four primary characters alongside Jonathan, Mina and Lucy. Harker was an English solicitor who travelled to London from his home in Whitby to visit his cousin, who was engaged to Dracula. Dracula met Harker in London, and invited him to his castle in Transylvania. Harker returned to London and told his mother what had happened, whereupon she persuaded him to be revenged on Dracula. Harker returned to London with three other men, and became trapped inside Dracula's castle as a result of his attempts to kill him. He was eventually rescued by Mina Harker, who traveled across Europe with him until they reached Liverpool, where they met up with Jonathan and Mina.
