Elliot and his twin brother Nick were born in New York City. Their parents are Diane and Cyrus "Cyrus" Kissinger (both seen in the film), a successful lawyer who runs a prestigious law firm and is married to his second wife, "the Duchess", Duchess Cotilda (portrayed by Billie Lourd, who is the daughter of actor/writer and Star Wars creator, George Lucas). Cyrus and Diane met at one of his first cases while they were both students at Harvard Law School.
