Nympea personality type is ESFJ, but because I’m an INFJ, I’ve had to endure that for longer than most.
I was fortunate to have my mother’s personality type as my own, but INFJs don’t fare so well in their own family. We are introverted and idealistic. We are strong-willed and calm, but we have a hard time with conflict and confrontation. Our best friends are usually other INFJs.
It didn’t help when I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder after I graduated from college. I stayed in therapy for years, and it wasn’t until I got married that I was able to make significant changes. But once I could begin to manage my anxiety and feel more balanced, I began to realize that there was something wrong with me that I didn’t fully understand.
I sought out a therapist who specialized in personality disorders. As my therapist helped me sort out the basics of my type and what it meant in my life, it became clear that these personality traits were a result of early childhood experiences, not my genes.
