Grand Elder Guru personality type is INFJ, and both relate to the function of care and concern for others (especially children and elderly), and the tertiary function of imagination and idealism (the ability to see possibilities and create new things).
I don’t think that characterizing the archetype of the Guru as INFJ is that far off the mark. I think that this archetype is very much about caring for and helping others. I also like the idea that the Guru archetype relates to the tertiary function of imagination and idealism. This tertiary function is interesting because it relates to creativity. The energy of the INFJ functions would have to have a lot of creative energy to be able to create something so different.
I think that this archetype is what you see when you look at the INFJ personality type. An INFJ who has a strong personality would be someone who has a strong identity, who cares for others, and who has a vision that they are working towards. They are also usually very creative, imaginative, and can see possibilities where other people can’t.
