He is seen in the form of a cat, and he is defeated by Gohan with a Kamehameha Wave. In the movie Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Shenron's true form is a large creature with a body consisting of a snake-like head on top of a large golden dragon body. In this form, he is defeated by Cooler after Gohan's spirit powers up his energy wave.
In the movie Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming, he shows himself as a giant (evidently comparable in size to Cooler), and it is shown that he resides in the Dead Zone.
