Explanation of the Enneagram
The Enneagram of Personality is a system of nine personality types, based on the theory of personality developed by Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist Hermann Hesse. It was first published in the 1930s and is sometimes referred to as the Enneagram.
Many people, including various authors, actors and sportspeople, have identified with the nine different types for various reasons. In particular, celebrities who have identified with the Enneagram include Oprah Winfrey, Christian Bale, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and, of course, Albert Einstein.
The Enneagram is an alternative method of classifying personality, in addition to Jungian typology (also known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator). It was developed by Hesse to be more objective than the Myers-Briggs, which is based on a subjective interpretation of personality.
The Enneagram consists of nine different types, each divided into three groups:
Type 1: The Fool, or "the Simple" - people who do not have their own intellect or ideas.
