D'Edelmar was also very good at making friends, being able to quickly and easily make friends of all classes and walks of life. He was one of the most popular and well-liked people in the country, due to his outgoing and friendly personality, unusual for a noble, and he was known as the city's "best host." He was also known for his generosity, always giving to charity and helping others in need.

D'Edelmar had a particular fondness for children, even more than normal for a nobleman, being very fond of dressing up in children's clothing and playing with them. He also loved animals, having a pet dog named Brandy that he often took out for walks along with his pet cat.

Augustin is the eldest son of Queen Premelia and King Diogène. Due to his status as an elder, he was groomed to become the future king of Edelmar, and did not spend much time with his family during his youth
