They are people who, according to Keirsey, "like to be in charge and want to know where they stand." People with this personality type are known as "the 'realist,'" and they're typically described as less idealistic and more practical than other personality types, such as ENFPs. According to Keirsey, ESTJs are "sensible, practical, realistic, and dependable." They're not usually interested in career or life opportunities that span very long periods of time. For example, they'd be hesitant about moving to another country for an extended period of time. They're also not usually interested in trying new things or being original. According to Keirsey, ESTJs are "always with us, they're always the same."
