This isn't the kind of book where each character is described to the nth degree. Instead, they are visualized and given characteristics. The author uses very descriptive language to describe the characters so you can imagine them as you read.
The story follows Jackson and his best friend, Josh. Jackson is very popular and has a lot of friends, but Josh is an outcast; he doesn't have many friends and he doesn't seem to fit in. Jackson starts to notice that the other kids are treating Josh differently, but he doesn't know why. When Jackson discovers a secret about Josh, the story really takes off.
I really enjoyed this book because it was so easy to read and enjoyable. It made me feel like I was actually in high school again, which is always a good thing.
