Yawara-Jitsu is a martial art for self defense. It arises from the ancient Yawara, or "art of agility", from which various schools such as Wa-Jitsu , Tai-Jitsu , Kumuishi , or Kempo derived .

Its modern translation is Scientific Personal Defense , and it is registered by its founder, Grand Master Miguel Pérez Carrillo. There is some confusion, as the old Yawara did not carry the "jitsu" suffix. "Yawara" was briefly used, or also "Yawara Aiki-Jujutsu". Therefore, the Japanese school, to avoid confusion, should use the jutsu suffix, which corresponds to traditional schools.
