I met Tou-sensei through a recommendation from Hikari-chan (of MyAnimeList) and I started watching NGE with her.
I remember that I started watching the first episode with my parents. My parents really don't understand much about anime so they were very surprised when they saw the first episode with me and my mom cried. I didn't understand anything back then, but I really enjoyed it.
The character of Tou-sensei was my favorite character. She was very smart, talented, and I really admired her for her courage to fight for people who cannot fight for themselves.
My mom told me after watching the first episode that she cried because she wanted to be like Tou-sensei.
