Cody’s roommate, Amanda, is the most neurotic of the three. Her best friend is a character named Debbie. Debbie is neurotic as well, but she’s more of a “people-pleaser” type. In the movie she becomes obsessed with Cody, and is very insistent on helping him out. The movie shows how neurotic types can become more self-centered as they try to help their neurotic friends.
