Ivy Sullivan personality type is ISFP, which is not one of the basic types. She is often seen as an ENFP, but I think it’s just because they are similar. She is not that strongly influenced by her parents, but is very similar in her behavior to them when they were young.
She is also seen as an ENFP in the movie, but I am of the opinion that the movie ENFP is an artistic, almost obsessive character. By contrast, real people are not like this at all.
Ivy has a strong need of independence, which means she is not at all sensitive to changes in her environment. So she will get bored very easily, but the problem is that she has no idea how to get out of this state, or how to replace it with something else. She cannot understand why her own independence is not enough for her.
For example, she is not able to understand how she can get some change in her life, or why her parents have so much more freedom than her. She thinks this is her own fault.
She is very similar in some ways to other types, but in some ways she is very different from them.
