Two years ago, Lande began his first job as an engineer at Google, where he designs products such as search algorithms and auto-fill forms.
“I was really nervous,” he said. “I was the only engineer in my group, which was about 20 people at the time. I was the only one who ever made mistakes when I was there, and it’s because I was so confident in myself and my skills.”
In his free time, however, Lande is an avid gamer. “I play a lot of different games, like Hearthstone and League of Legends,” he said. “I also watch a lot of YouTube videos about games.”
He also enjoys hiking and is looking forward to hiking to the summit of Mount Rainier in July.
