Malignant narcissism is a personality disorder in which one is fixated on grandiosity and selfishness. This is the personality type of a serial killer. They are preoccupied with their own superiority and view everything in terms of power and domination.
It’s easy to see how this personality type would be involved in the Trump administration, but it’s not just him. We see this in Sarah Palin’s “death panel” comment, Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” comment, and all the other Republican candidates who have made some of the most offensive comments.
This personality type is also present in people who seek out fame, attention and power. These people thrive on being the center of attention, and they don’t care if they are offending others.
Malignant narcissism has been linked to other mental disorders, including paranoia.
