Cheong-ho personality type is ISTP, once again, as opposed to his Seong-ho personality type. He is more blunt and spontaneous, but also much more aggressive and competitive than Seong-ho. He is not afraid to fight for what he believes in, and is often more confrontational than his brother. In a sense, Seong-ho is more like an ISTP mother, while Yeong-hye is more like an ISFP father. Seong-ho is a complex character, who is not quite as straightforward as his younger brother.
The relationship between the two brothers is a key aspect of the story, and Kang describes it as follows:
The brothers' relationship was rocky at first. The younger brother Yeong-hye saw his brother's bluntness as rude and selfish. But Yeong-hye began to recognize his sibling's wisdom and kindness and eventually came to love him. At the same time, Yeong-hye developed a sense of responsibility toward his older brother.
Throughout the story, the two brothers have a very complex relationship with each other.
