Gumbly/Graggle Simpson personality type is ENFP, so I am a little embarrassed to say I am only an ESTP, but I feel that I have more in common with the ESTP's.
My child is now 15 and I am still grappling with my daughter's Gumbly/Graggle Simpson personality type. I am an ENFP (a true empath) and ENFP's are introverted, extraverted, and intuitive. I am also a very high-functioning autistic.
I still have a hard time understanding my daughter's behavior. She is a very intelligent "Gumbly" personality type (entitled, independent, and strong-willed), and she refuses to be bullied by her peers (as I was and still am), but she still has a hard time with her peers. She is often called names (she is a beautiful girl). She will often speak up for herself, but being so "Gumbly" she will just turn the conversation around onto herself, which is not helpful in the least.
My daughter will often try out for teams at school and get rejected (she is naturally very athletic, but her personality type is not the best for team sports).

Gumbly at first was not very loved by fans of the series, they even branded him as an unnecessary and somewhat edgy character, but as time went on, his charisma and madness gave him an incredible character development and he was fundamental to the family. Nowadays the writers have forgotten about it and just scrapped him, but if they used it again for sure the series would be acclaimed again
It was really unfortunate what happened at the time of his departure, without a doubt he was a character very loved by only a few (including me) and he brought something special to the series.
With his departure began the real decline of the Simpsons, fly high my little angel.
