Alice is a fictional character and the protagonist of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. She is a cheerfully amoral, curious, imaginative, resourceful and often unreliable narrator who is prone to flights of fantasy. She is usually depicted as a child wearing a white dress with blue flowers, even when she is an adult. The word 'Alice' is derived from the Old French word 'alice' or 'aliis', which means 'of the lord' or 'of God'.
