Functional Analysis
Jung's functional analysis of the four functions is sometimes described as a four-quadrant model, with each of the four quadrants containing one function. However, some authors question whether this is a useful term, believing that it is better to think of the four functions as four dimensions rather than as four successively spatially separated quadrants. To illustrate the difference between the two perspectives on the quadrants, consider two people with an extroverted sensing type, who are both introverts (i.e., they each use one of the functions introverted in their dominant hemisphere).
