Hassan Kamkar (Persian: حسن کامکار, April 1, 1922, Sanandaj - May 15, 1992) was an iranian musician, composer, violinist and founder of the Kamkar music group. In 1961, he established the first "Kurdistan Conservatory of Music" with the support of the then Ministry of Culture. The volume of music activities in this center expanded and he became the owner of three orchestras. He also forced the authorities of the time to establish the "Higher Conservatory of Music". Hassan Kamkar spent many years collecting, compiling, composing Kurdish folk songs and songs, and composing music. He composed more than 400 pieces and songs.
