ASMR personality type is INFP, ENTJ or ISFJ. The INFP is the most likely of the three to be an ASMRtist, whereas the ENTJ and ISFJ are less likely to listen to ASMR videos. Each personality type has its own reasons for being an ASMRtist that may not be identical to the reasons of the other two.
When ASMR emerged on the scene, the sensation wasn't unanimously accepted. It was largely criticized as a blanket term for a collection of fundamentals that could be felt rather than described. "There are a lot of ASMR artists," says Giulia Poerio, an Italian filmmaker who specializes in audio experiences and often collaborates with other ASMRtists. "But if someone says, 'This is ASMR,' it's difficult for me to know what they're talking about because I've never heard of half of them."
I have experienced this sensation for years and whenever I try to explain it to others they look at me as if I am strange. This happens to me every day when one of my play group members will touch my arm or my shoulder.
