Historiography personality type is ISTJ, and it's a good fit for me. I was/am very interested in knowing more about the personality type and I think that I have a decent grasp of the characteristics now.
I have been noticing some other points of interest or criticisms with regards to the ISFJ type. I thought it might be interesting to post these together and see what the community's thoughts on them are.
(1) ISTJs are often described as "the mediator" or "the person who takes care of everyone" in their careers. I find this description of an ISTJ to be simplistic and lacking in detail. While it is true that they are often described in this way, there is also another side to this. ISTJs often tend to be seen as "overly protective" or "overly social" by other professions and activities. They often get singled out as the "odd man out" when taking part in a team or a group, or even just trying to be around interaction with people in general. This can make them feel quite isolated.
