Sara and I have been best friends since high school. She’s one of the few people I trust with my deepest, darkest secrets. Even though our friendship was off to a rocky start in college (she was pregnant at the time, and I was very immature and jealous), we reconciled and became closer than ever after she had her baby, Carlo.
Sara and I were both in grad school for philosophy. We were both studying the same philosophy, existentialism, and had similar interests in literature. Although we were very different from each other, we had a lot in common, especially when it came to our personalities.
As we got older, our friendship became more important to us. It now consisted of every bit of our lives. We did everything together: studying, cooking, traveling, and even cleaning our own homes. Every time we cooked dinner together, it was always a special event. It was like we were creating a story together.
