I’m reading “The Artist” by Julian Barnes, which tells the story of struggling artist Vincent van Gogh.
The author of the book is Julian Barnes, who is not an INFJ. He’s an ENFJ (extraverted intuitive feeling judging), which is the opposite of an INFJ (Introverted intuitive feeling judging). However, he was able to “demystify” the INFJ personality type by using the fictional character Vincent van Gogh as a metaphor for the INFJ.
I wonder if it would be better to use more fictional characters for this purpose. For example, if I ever wrote a novel about Sherlock Holmes, would it be more accurate if I used some other fictional character as a metaphor for Sherlock Holmes rather than using Sherlock Holmes himself?
That’s the kind of thing I wonder about when I read about INFJ personality types.
