"It's a little bit of a different experience with this record, because we're trying to promote the record as a body of work," Cuomo says. "We're not promoting it as 'Alter Bridge,' which is this sort of past incarnation. We're promoting it as 'Alter Bridge,' which is who we are now. And that's kind of our mission statement with this record in general."
Being able to show the "real" band is one benefit to taking advantage of Facebook and MySpace in this way. It allows the band to connect with fans who may not have followed them since their heyday, but who still want to hear new music and connect with a band that means a lot to them.
