Wanderlust personality type is ENFP, according to research by the Myers and Briggs Foundation. In a study of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five personality traits, ENFPs were found to be the least likely of all types to want to create change.

“I think we’re all kind of born with this wanderlust, this need to be wandering around and seeing new things,” said Deanna Cooper, a certified life coach based in New York City. “That’s the ENFP part. But what happens is when they’re not getting their needs met in those areas, they kind of cross that line.”

In other words, when ENFPs aren’t feeling supported by their family and their environment, they may start to feel restless. They may crave a change of scenery, or a new challenge or goal.

“What happens is as they get older, they get more confident about going out on their own and making their own money, and doing that on their own and feeling independent,” Cooper said. “And it’s not getting the emotional support from their family that they need.
