The Garrison Regiment (Personified) personality type is ISFJ, or "the Protector", and is the most common personality type for NCOs, who take on the role of a leader and a mentor to their troops. ISFJs are responsible for making sure that every word, gesture and action of every member of the group is in accordance to the rules and expectations of that group. They are often concerned for the welfare of others and have a desire to care for others. This can take the form of concern for their subordinates (especially those who have experienced hardship), which frequently includes a desire to protect them from the outside world. An ISFJ's natural desire to care for others is often counteracted by their desire for order and control, as they will strive to make sure that every member of their unit/group knows what is expected of them as well as what is acceptable. ISFJs are often painfully aware of the obligations they have to their subordinates and will seek to fulfill those obligations as best they can, often at the cost of their own personal desires.
