Some ISFJs do have the need to feel better about themselves, since they feel inferior to other people on an intj level. But it's the inferiority that makes them feel the need to be better than others, not the need for self-esteem (which is an entirely different thing).
Sevire I'm an ISFJ, and I have a lot of similar personality traits, but I would say that one of the best possible things that could happen to me is to find a romantic partner who's far more intelligent than I am, so that I can learn from him.
The second best possible thing is to find a romantic partner who's both intelligent and funny. Both of these things, I've never even considered before in my entire life. :xp:
I think that if I were around more intelligent people, it would help me become a more intelligent person, and vice versa. The same with being around funny people. :o
